A year and a half or so ago i let some total hacks do a clutch job on my pickup. i've never seen worse work in my life. so, it's haunted me since. how does one fuck up a clutch job? crossthreading the studs that hold onto the pedal, leaving out bolts, stretching the return spring across the exhaust(no shit.), and doing something internally that causes it to take what my friend describes as a herculean effort to push in the pedal, every time i switch gears. and this is after i took it back and pointed out that something was wrong! seriously, i wouldn't let the guys at red river auto air up my fucking tires. so after all that time of driving around with the clutch taking so much pressure to push, the tension bolt had actually pushed itself about 3/4" THROUGH THE CLUTCH FORK. that's right. made a hole, and pushed through. and finally snapped. so here's some funny nigriggery until i finally replace the clutch myself this week. 3/8" or so bolt used so it won't go through the hole in the fork. classy. the only solace i've had in this shit was watching 4 genuinely good mechanics, one who is one of the greatest in austin, standing under my truck and peanut gallery those turds' work. i quote, "you let somebody leave your place when you've done work this bad, you're not a shitty mechanic. you're an asshole."
